Frequently Asked  Questions

What  should our family wear ?

Clothes Hanging

When choosing the family wardrobe,  select 1-2 base neutrals (tan, white, denim, grey, cream) and 1-2 colours (example: navy, light blue, sage, dusty colours) for everyone to collaborate with. Stay away from clothing that has large logos or are too bright.  It is best to stay away from having everyone wear the same colour of shirt, instead have the colour pop throughout the outfits. (like one pattern shirt, a dress, a cardigan, sweater, a layered jacket, skirt, belt, tie, scarf.)

Here are a couple examples of colour themes, and how to coordinate the colours with your family.

When is the best time of day to shoot?

Old-Fashioned Clock

It’s very important to time your family photoshoot right. If you have young children, we should base your timing on kids’ sleeping & feeding schedule.  We will shoot during the time they will be most playful. Make sure everyone has a snack right before the session. We want the family to be happy and energetic!

If we are shooting outdoors, it is best to avoid shooting between 10am-4pm (summer) with the direct sunlight.  We will schedule your session before or after this time for softer light.

When will my photos be ready?

Wedding Album

The turnaround time for family portraits is approx 2 weeks after your session, depending on what package you chose.  You will receive a personal password protected online gallery to view & share with family members! You will be able to download your images and also have an option to purchase professional prints within your gallery.

Here is an example of what your gallery will look like.
